She pulled the blanket over herself in 2A as the plane climbed into the clouds.
Halfway through the flight, she remembered something. She reached into her bag.
It was the red Lady Dior handbag she had bought herself months before. Glossy. Elegant. Still smelling new.
Her fingers searched through it until they found a small compact mirror. She opened it. The mirror inside was cracked.
She looked at it for a moment. Then she smiled.
She closed it and slipped it carefully back into her bag.
Some things are worth keeping. Even when they are broken.
